Music: Wolfgang's Black Christmas Project

Wolfgang rocked Eastwood a few weeks ago and people went wild. The resulting noise—a compound of clapping, hooting, and screaming—was catastrophic.

That was the first time I felt my eardrums quiver violently, confirming my hunch that only a few in Manila can rival Basti Artadi's charisma on stage.

Underneath its loud, hard rock veneer, the Black Christmas Project had a sentimental core. It was a reunion of sorts for Razorback and Wolfgang (whose last gig together dated 12 months ago); it was also a get-together for the latter's loyal fans. Seeing them stumping their feet and singing their tonsils out was pure magic.

When Kevin Roy of Razorback proclaimed the Black Christmas Project as the “gig of the year,” I found myself head-banging in agreement.

Rock on.

Yeah, that's what people have been telling me. One guy told me that Wolfgang is "old school" and one girl can't believe that I went to a Wolfgang concert, saying that I don't belong there. I won't even mention the comments some of the people in our office made. Oh man, those people made me feel old, as in 40-years-old, which I'm not. Hehe.

But seriously, the concert was fun.

@ The Scud

The gig was held last year, December 10, one day after my birthday. And since the concert was held at Eastwood, where I work, I had no problem sneaking out of the office, hehe.

Sayang you weren't able to watch! Galing ni Basti! And the opening act, Power Spoons, was really good! Reggae/metal yung music nila. They're from Cebu. :-)
