i've only seen burn after reading. the poster was pretty good but the movie (imho) was pretty meh..

pero if we're just talking about posters, i would say it's pretty essential. :D

citybuoy: I definitely agree re: Burn After Reading. I'm not too keen on the movie, but I'm insanely in love with their poster. :D

it reminds me of really old movie posters ala hitchcock's vertigo. i dunno. maybe they meant it to be that way. but brad pitt doing borderline slapstick comedy is something i don't want to see again. haha

citybuoy: Yeah, the poster has a charming retro feel to it.

I really don't like Brad Pitt as an actor. Bias, hehe

Adik, haha

andy, akala ko ung totoong posters. saan ba nakakabili nun? i want an xfiles poster. adik. hehe.

My favorite posters are the ones for Blindness, Flash of Genius and the Song of Sparrows for their depth and simplicity. I like the one for Burn After Reading too in spite of the 1960s feel to it.

Panaderos: I like simple posters with depth--things we don't normally see in mainstream movie posters.

The poster of Burn After Reading is cute. It has a roguish charm to it. :)

but ands, u have to admit brad pitt is actually good at playing an asshole dimwits like the recent Lt. Aldo Raine. Tom Cruise is also good at it, remember Tropic Thunder and of course, Magnolia.

i actually like Brad's character in Burn After Reading next to the great John Malkovich.

Visual Velocity said...

jayclops: Fine. :p

Axel said...

Wow!! ganun ba, ako one time pa lang makapanood ng indie eh...

Visual Velocity said...

Axel: Sanayan lang yan. Nung una nanibago ako, pero after a while, nagustuhan ko na rin, hehe

Axel said...

Visual Velocity said...

Axel: That's good, hehe. Ano title?

Axel said...

Uhmmm, naku nakalimutan ko na yung title... Pero kasama toh nung huling Cinemalaya eh...

Visual Velocity said...

Axel: Marami ngang maganda dun. Best batch daw yung last year so far.

Axel said...

Ahhh, best batch daw ba?? Tingin ko nga, mukhang magaganda nga talaga... Nakapanood ka rin ba last year??

Visual Velocity said...

Worth it naman; maraming magagandang movies. Buti na lang, kundi sayang leave ko. :D

happy weekend, andy!
new post na, pwede?
hehe

Visual Velocity said...

Mangyan Adventurer: Okay lang yun, hehe. Ganda ng poster ng Gomorrah. Napanood mo na?

Axel: Hindi naman masyado. Unti lang, haha.

Raft3r: Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, hehe. Sige na nga, new post na. :D

I saw Waltz with Bashir last year and fell in love with it, with the dreamlike/nightmarish scenes in it.

The posters of the other movies I haven't seen get got me really, really intrigued. :)

Manech: War is never beautiful, but the artwork in Waltz with Bashir is so pretty I'm starting to have second thoughts, hehe. I love the final scene. That part hit me hard.

Thanks for posting, Manech. :)
